The Business

  • A substantial division of one of the North’s leading Real Estate and Infrastructure investors, with a diverse £3bn portfolio.
  • The role offers a unique opportunity for a finance leader to partner the Managing Director in shaping the future of the autonomous Retail and Leisure division, comprising a portfolio of c£0.5bn of landmark properties.

The Role

  • Reporting to the Managing Director, “Number 1” role in Finance, leading the day-to-day and strategic financial management of the Retail and Leisure Division.
  • Business partnering: Key Business Partner to the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team providing financial insights and strategic support in delivering ongoing growth in the business. Providing commercial finance support to the commercial and operations teams.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee monthly management reporting, annual statutory reporting, covenant reporting.
  • Cashflow management: Cashflow management and rolling cashflow forecasting.
  • Leadership: Leading and mentoring a team of seven finance professionals.
  • FP&A:  Preparation and maintenance of medium and long-term financial projections, annual budgeting and forecasting.
  • External Financing: Managing debt facilities, debt refinancing transactions, ensuring covenant compliance.
  • Shareholder Reporting: Overseeing shareholder reporting, business plans, and returns analysis.
  • Investment Appraisal: Conducting financial appraisals of future developments, new leases, incentives and capital expenditure.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with auditors, lenders, and key stakeholders.

The Candidate

  • Qualified accountant with substantial post-qualification experience.
  • Proven expertise in robust financial management and control.
  • Experience in a Real Estate or Retail business would be useful (not essential).
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to provide strategic insights.
  • Effective leader with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Resilient and detail-oriented.
