We are currently instructed by clients on 2 separate North West based Finance Director roles where the clients have specified that they would ideally like to bring in candidates who are stepping up to FD for the first time.

Landing your first Finance Director role is the hardest role to land in your career (possibly with the exception of landing a training contract after graduating!) so opportunities that are specifically seeking first time FDs are few and far between.

Both roles require candidates who can demonstrate a mix of experience comprising both Financial Control and Commercial insight / business partnering. As with all FD roles, you will need excellent communication and relationship building skills.
