Our retained client is the world’s leading private owner and operator of football clubs around the world, including one of the leading football clubs in world football.

Expansion and development of the finance team structure has given rise to a requirement for a newly created role of Head of Treasury to join the Group. The role has a remit to develop Global Treasury strategy and lead the Global Treasury function.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director (Global Finance), the Head of Treasury will lead and develop Treasury into a best in class global Treasury function. Leading a Treasury team of 3, key responsibilities include:

• Reporting & Forecasting: Lead all cashflow reporting and forecasting to internal and external stakeholders; Enhance, automate and expand cashflow reporting to create a best-in-class global Treasury function; Deliver liquidity Key Performance Indicators, tracking historical and projected performance against the KPIs.
• Global Cashflow Optimisation: Close contact with all global Finance functions to ensure clubs are adequately funded and optimise cashflow management. Understand and challenge cashflows for the group’s major infrastructure projects. Continually challenge the existing global liquidity control framework and deliver improvements.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with finance and business leads, external banks and ratings agencies. Provide expert guidance and insight to facilitate effective decision making.
• Risk Management: Responsible for the group’s financial risk management, including FX and interest rate risk, and maintaining the group’s liquidity policy.

The Candidate

• 10+ years’ experience in Treasury in a global treasury function
• Experience with derivative financial instruments to manage financial risks
• Experience with managing and reporting to rating agencies (e.g. Fitch, Moody’s, S&P)
• Previous experience leading a team
• Positive, open mindset with high emotional intelligence
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with, and influence, stakeholders
• Experience with Treasury Management Systems handling multinational companies’ needs for managing cash and related risks
