The Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead the day-to-day finance function whilst taking ownership of financial reporting, controls, compliance and working capital management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a finance team across reporting, transactional finance and treasury activities
- Ownership of monthly management accounts and Board reporting
- Preparation of interim and year-end consolidated financial statements under IFRS
- Managing external audit processes and key adviser relationships
- Maintaining robust financial controls, governance and compliance procedures
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management activities
- Providing commercial insight and financial support to operational stakeholders
- Driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and reporting
This is a highly visible role, offering regular interaction with the Executive Leadership Team and significant exposure to strategic decision-making.
The Candidate
We are seeking a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant potentially looking for their first Financial Controller role with:
- ACA or ACCA looking for a second move in industry
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS reporting
- Experience managing audits and statutory reporting requirements
- A proven track record of leading and developing finance teams
- Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach combined with commercial awareness
- Experience within a fast-paced, growing business environment
Exposure to a listed, private equity-backed or multi-entity organisation would be advantageous.
