The Company

A substantial privately owned Real Estate investment and development group is seeking a Finance Manager to join its Finance team. The business is deeply involved in the ongoing development of Manchester and its surrounding areas, as well as developments and investments in other major regional cities.

Working alongside private and institutional investors, the business acquires, manages and develops property across the UK. This is a broad, hands-on role with regular exposure to senior management and colleagues across investment, asset management and development.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller in a close-knit finance team you will take responsibility for financial reporting and forecasting across a portfolio of property investments and joint ventures. Around 80% of the role is involved in the investment and asset management side of the group with the remainder supporting the development division.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing management accounts and client reporting, with clear commentary on performance and variances.
• Producing budgets and forecasts, including property and project cash flows.
• Preparing and reviewing service charge budgets, monitoring expenditure and completing reconciliations.
• Supporting reporting on acquisitions, disposals, capital expenditure and investor distributions.
• Assisting with development finance, funding drawdowns and JV board reporting.
• Reviewing and supporting the work of an Accounts Assistant.

About You

• You will be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with excellent management reporting and forecasting skills.
• Experience of working in the finance function of a business of scale in the Real Estate / Property sector is essential. Familiarity with service charge accounting would be useful.
• You will be comfortable taking ownership of your work, explaining financial information to non-finance colleagues and managing competing deadlines within a small team.
