MDM are exclusively supporting a leading UK real estate and development group in the appointment of a Senior Commercial Finance Manager.

This role represents an excellent opportunity for a Big 4 or mid-tier trained ACA, either making a first move from practice or a second move in industry, to step into a commercially focused role with significant exposure to investment appraisal as well as senior stakeholders and ddevelopment activity.

The Role

The Senior Commercial Finance Manager will act as the senior finance business partner, providing robust analysis, challenge and insight to support investment and delivery decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as lead finance partner to senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
• Appraisal of future projects including IRR, payback and value creation analysis
• Ownership of financial reporting, forecasting and cash profiling for development projects
• Preparation of board-level reporting packs and presentation to senior committees
• Providing commercial challenge and decision support on live developments
• Management and development of a small on-site finance team
• Liaison with external funders, advisors and project monitoring surveyors
• Driving process improvement and best practice across commercial finance and appraisal

The Person

This role will particularly suit candidates from a Commercial Finance or Transaction Services, Corporate Finance or Deals background who are looking to move into a hands-on commercial role.

• ACA qualified, Big 4 or mid-tier firm qualified
• Either first move from practice or 2nd move post-qualification in industry
• Strong investment appraisal and financial modelling experience
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence operating at senior level
• Highly analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear commercial insight
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience advantageous
• A proactive, commercially curious approach and appetite to influence decision-making
