Our client is a growing privately owned business in the education sector, with a team of almost 100 staff.  Due to sustained growth, the business now needs to recruit a newly created role of Head of Finance.  The role is wide ranging and will involve:

• Financial Management: Manage the day-to-day financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Budget Control: Develop and maintain budgets, monitor performance against budgets, and provide insights for decision-making.
• Financial Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to formulate financial strategies and long-term financial plans.
• Accounting: Oversee current accounting function and the team of two people, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Xero Expertise: Utilise Xero and other financial software to streamline processes and maintain accurate financial records.
• External Partnerships: Liaise with external accountants, tax advisors, and other financial consultants as necessary.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.
• High level administration: ensure safe keeping of all documentations, contracts, and company related matters.

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / ACMA), strong knowledge of financial management and regulations, have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as experience of partnering with the senior leadership team.  You will ideally have gained experiece of using Xero accounting software, although this is not essential.  The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to bring a commercial awareness.  A strong team player and the ambition to develop and grow with the business.
