Our client is a high profile North West Group, one of the UK’s largest operators in its sector (c£3bn asset base) and is managed according to strong Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) principles.

A Senior Group Accountant is now required to join the Group Finance team.

About The Role

Reporting to the Group Head of Finance, the Senior Group Accountant role encompasses the following aspects of Financial Management for the Group:

• Financial Reporting: Monthly and Quarterly management reporting to Group leadership team; Preparation of monthly Board report; Annual statutory reporting; Consolidation of the accounts for the Group;
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Consolidating the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the Group;
• Financial Control: Operation of various key control procedures, ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet and data;
• Treasury and Covenant Compliance: Cashflow forecasting and monitoring, covenant compliance and reporting for all external financing / loans;
• Audit: Assisting with the annual audit process;
• Staff Management: Line management of a team of 4 staff

Who should apply?

Candidates from either practice or industry will be considered. If you’re moving from practice, this will be an excellent first move into industry for a candidate with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience. It offers a broad grounding in the various areas of experience that will prepare you for a Financial Controller role in the future.

If you’re moving from an industry role, you will probably currently be in a Financial Accountant role or a Financial Reporting role.

The Candidate

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) with strong technical skills.
• Experience of preparing or auditing complex consolidated group accounts is essential;
• Strong Excel skills and with an affinity for working with systems;
• Experience of the property / real estate sector would be useful (but is not essential).
