Our client is a PE backed rapidly growing B2B service sector business.
Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer and with 2 direct (6 indirect) reports, this is a key role to ensure strong accounts and reporting throughout the group. As Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading and developing the full and robust financial management of our group, whilst developing the capabilities of direct reports so that they can effectively support delivery of the financial performance of the business. The role also provides Business Partnering support to various members of the Senior Leadership Team.
As financial management is crucial for our group’s performance, you will play a big role in key decision making to contribute to the group’s growth and success.
The Role
- End to end ownership of internal and external financial reporting processes, oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Leading, owning and driving improvement in the group-wide financial internal control environment.
- Manage quality control over financial transactions and reporting. Identify process improvement (financial and non-financial) and cost reduction opportunities
- Deliver cash flow forecasts, improve working capital and cash management processes across the Group.
- Produce financial statements for subsidiary entities.
- Primary point of contact with external advisors for audit and taxation compliance
- Primary point of contact with bank relationship team.
- Providing the business and Senior Leadership Team with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide in their decision making, risk assessment and strategic direction.
- Review performance against budget, analyse deficiencies and report variances to the business.
- Assist with the development and evaluation of business cases for new investment initiatives across the business and measure return on investment.
- Oversee the integration of financial control processes and reporting for acquisitions
- Coaching, mentoring & developing both direct teams, graduates and indirect colleagues from across the business.
- Provide support for adhoc projects requiring a Finance input.
- Business Partnering
- Build strong relationships with senior business leaders and heads in operational and sales divisions;
- Act as an interface or 'translator between finance and operations, providing financial information to no-finance colleagues;
- Have a commercial awareness, understanding and appreciation for the needs of both operations and management
The Candidate
You will have outstanding knowledge of accounting principles and best practice control procedures; with strong experience of producing financial statements and reconciling all areas of general ledger. You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills, as well as excellent attention to detail / problem-solving skills.
